Kwik Kopy Sets Sights on 30% Franchise Growth in the Coming Years

  • Written by Business Daily Media

As small businesses in the print industry navigate the turbulent economic landscape, franchising has proven to be a robust solution. With an established market presence and consistent growth patterns, franchise businesses are offering stability and support to entrepreneurs facing challenges in the modern era. Kwik Kopy Australia, the market-leading franchisor in the print industry, has ambitious goals to expand its network of centres across Australia by 30% in the coming years.

In 2024-2025, data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reveals a business entry rate of 16.4% and an exit rate of 13.9%, highlighting the difficulties of sustaining independent businesses, including independent printers. Franchising offers a viable alternative, providing a tested framework and an extensive support system that enables entrepreneurs to operate with increased stability and reduced risk.

The key benefits of joining a franchise network include:

1. Established Brand Power: New business owners benefit from an existing customer base and market presence, eliminating the need to build a reputation from scratch. They become part of a larger network with realistic advantages over competitors.

2. Extensive Training and Support: Franchisees receive comprehensive training on business operations, marketing strategies and customer service, along with consistent collaborations with fellow franchisees. Aspiring entrepreneurs who join a franchise network gain access to a community of like-minded individuals with similar goals and ambitions.

3. Economies of Scale: Franchisees benefit from collective buying power, improving overall financial stability.

4. Opportunities for the Youth: The franchising model is inclusive for everyone from all walks of life. Kwik Kopy recently made history by having its youngest-ever franchise owner, Naythen Lindsey, who purchased the Hornsby centre at just 19 years of age.

5. Path to Entrepreneurship: Not only do external buyers become franchisees, but also home-grown talent from Kwik Kopy. Graphic designers and other former staff members have also developed and equipped themselves to purchase their own centre after learning the ropes within the system.

"The community spirit is our cornerstone that underscores the long-standing service and success of small businesses within our network," said Sonia Shwabsky, CEO of Kwik Kopy Australia. "The perseverance of our franchisees, coupled with the robust support they receive, is the foundation of their success."

Kwik Kopy recognises its outstanding franchisees, who are examples of the success small business owners can attain as part of their network. These include centres such as Camberwell, a 24-25 Franchisee of the Year Winner; Shellharbour and Five Dock, which have accumulated more than 10 awards combined.

As part of Kwik Kopy’s expansion plans, the company is looking to add more than 25 centres in the coming years, with over 40 locations identified as potential franchisees. With a current network of 91 franchisees across Australia, Kwik Kopy is poised for growth, aiming to empower aspiring entrepreneurs through a strong community spirit and robust support systems.
