Electronic Recycling Association Expands Its Mission to New Zealand

Through a reuse-first approach, ERA aims to work with businesses, schools, charities and community organizations to recover unwanted technology, extend the useful life of electronics and provide refurbished devices to those who can benefit from greater access to technology.

Founded in Canada in 2004, ERA has more than two decades of experience in electronics reuse, refurbishment, recycling, secure data destruction and IT asset management. ERA prioritizes refurbishment and reuse of computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets and other electronics whenever possible before responsible recycling. Its operations are supported by internationally recognized certifications, including ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, reflecting ERA's commitment to information security, environmental responsibility, quality management and workplace health and safety.

ERA's mission extends internationally through initiatives that give technology a second life while improving access to digital resources. By connecting reusable electronics with schools, charities, non-profits and community programs, ERA helps reduce e-waste while supporting education, employment, communication and community development. Expanding into New Zealand represents another step toward building a global model where technology reuse creates both environmental and social value.
