Darryl Lovegrove launches his book ‘Why haven’t I heard of you?’

  • Written by Tess Sanders Lazarus

In times of rapid and radical change the key skill every professional, executive and business needs is the ability to reinvent at speed.

Darryl Lovegrove has reinvented himself more times than most.

A keynote speaker, entertainment producer and award-winning performer, Darryl Lovegrove was the co-creator of the global operatic sensation, The Three Waiters (14,000 shows, seen in 90 countries). After several reinventions over 30 years (well a lifetime really) he is now one of Australia’s most in-demand business and motivational speakers focusing on reinvention at a personal, professional and business level.

Darryl’s capacity to reinvent himself on stage and in business has seen him work with Sir Tim Rice, Sarah Brightman, Paul Allen, Jon Stevens, Richard Branson, John Waters, Anthony Warlow and many of the world’s most recognised brands and top 500 companies.

Throughout my career I’ve learned a lot from high powered figures, successful businesspersons, and people blowing up in the world of entertainment and show business. Why haven’t I heard of you? is a question I’ve been asked a lot along the way. So much so, I decided it was time to do something about it, so I wrote a book,” Lovegrove said.

Darryl is living proof that reinvention is something everyone needs to embrace, work on constantly and execute with consistency.

I’ve been through three significant reinventions in my life/career. At the time I didn’t think about what I was doing, I just did it as life and business throws you curve balls. You have two options when this happens - get side-swiped and spend time trying to understand what happened and lose your confidence OR regroup, reassess and reinvent,” Lovegrove added.

In my book, Why haven’t I heard of you I share my story of constant reinvention (the high notes and the low notes); why following your passion and matching this with strong values and purpose will sustain you and guide your choices; what steps professionals, consultants and business owners –large and small – can take to build reinvention capacity into their day-to-day thinking and execution; and how a mindset of continual reinvention combined with core values and purpose is possible and the only way to build a sustainable business.

By the end of the book, I want readers to know a bit more about me, and how to reinvent themselves, become more resilient, and what actions to take to become more relevant in their career, professional and other roles in life.”

Darryl Lovegrove’s long awaited tell all entrepreneurial story and blueprint for standing out in a challenging new world launched in March 2021.

Through Why haven’t I heard of you?, I hope to have nailed a page turner that is an inspiring, entertaining, relatable and uplifting story loaded with actionable insights accrued over 25 years of taking precarious risks, leveraging opportunity, and persevering through the joys and despair inherent in achieving personal and professional peak performance,” Lovegrove explained.

As readers will find in my book, my journey is real and authentic, punctuated with some of the most extraordinary highs and human challenges – and through it I persevered and succeeded simply because of my determined approach to life. I have used these experiences to demonstrate why and how it is important to perceive the things we face and muster the strength to go on – because – the show must always go on whether it be on a stage or in a boardroom!”
