Rippling launches new service to streamline device management in Australia

Rippling, a leading workforce management platform, has announced the launch of its new warehouse and Inventory Management service, helping companies to better onboard and offboard their workforce – regardless of whether employees are onsite, remote, or hybrid working. Located conveniently just outside Sydney, Rippling’s new warehouse will store and distribute workplace devices, including computers and monitors. Not only will this reduce storage burdens for businesses, it will also increase the safety and security of unused inventory in a secure space.

Rippling’s new service allows companies to automate the storage, transfer and assignment of IT equipment without physically interacting with the hardware. This innovative approach ensures that all devices are accounted for and can be readily available or redeployed at a moment's notice. With just a few clicks in the Rippling web app, businesses can start the process to reclaim devices from departing staff, easily shipping devices to new employees, while viewing the status and location of all of their devices in one place.

Additionally, Rippling eliminates the logistics work for operations and IT teams by processing returned devices from former team members. This involves shipping out prepaid boxes for easy returns, wiping the device’s  hard disk, inspecting it for quality, cleaning it, and loading it with the company's software and configurations. Rippling will then send the device straight into the hands of new employees as soon as they need it.

“The mundane work of IT packaging and distribution with onboarding and offboarding employees can be a tedious and time intensive process, particularly when employees are geographically distributed. The introduction of Rippling Inventory Management in Australia is designed to streamline the management and distribution of essential business equipment, while eliminating the burden of messy IT closets entirely,” said Matt Loop, VP and Head of Asia at Rippling. “Rippling is investing deeply in  enhancing our offering across APAC and building new products to support our clients. This launch is the latest demonstration of our ongoing commitment to the Australian market, helping companies to modernise their workforce management processes.”

Key features of Rippling’s new service include:

Hands-free device retrieval: When offboarding employees, Rippling’s secure offsite warehouse handles all device returns, ensuring easy, convenient and speedy recovery of items.

Secure offsite storage: Unused devices can be stored in a secure environment, freeing up office space and reducing the administrative burden on IT departments.

Comprehensive inventory monitoring: Businesses can track their entire inventory through Rippling’s online dashboard, offering insights into device availability and condition.

Reassignment of unused devices: Whether it is assigning a computer to a new hire or replacing a current employee's device, the service allows businesses to organise this directly from the Rippling app.
