3 Things To Consider When Repainting Your Commercial Building

If you have a commercial building that you’ve noticed could use a new coat of paint, there are a few things that you’re going to want to consider before you just go out and buy some new paint that you’ll try to slap on. Because the way that your commercial building looks can have a big impact on the success of the businesses there, you’ll want to make sure that you go about repainting the building in the best possible way.

To help you in doing this, here are three things to consider when repainting your commercial building.

Use The Right Paint

When you’re painting the outside of a commercial building, you need to make sure that you choose the right paint for the job. With this project, you can’t just use regular paint that you’d use for the walls inside of the building. To really get the job done right, you need to use architectural paint that is meant for outdoor use.

The exterior of your commercial building is going to be exposed to all kinds of elements. So to ensure that all of your hard work in repainting the building isn’t totally wasted, you’ll want to be sure that you choose paint that has been specially formulated for use outdoors. This will help to keep the paint looking good as well as better protecting the building, too.

Choose The Right Time To Start The Project

Because you’re just painting the exterior of your commercial building, this hopefully won’t interfere with the running of the business too much. However, you should still be careful about how you time your project and when you choose to start with the painting.

Ideally, you should try to paint either when you don’t normally have a lot of business or when your business is closed. This way, you won’t have to worry about getting in the way of your customer or clients as they try to get into or out of the building.

Using The Right Set of Skills For Your Project

High rise projects require a different skill set from the run of the mill commercial painter.  Properly qualified rope access painters ensure your commercial property looks its best without running into safety issues.  Use painters specialising in historical restorations for the best finishes when maintaining historical buildings in a commercial use setting.

Make A Plan For Maintenance

As you’re coming to the conclusion of your repainting project, one thing you’re going to want to think about is what your plan for maintenance is with this new, fresh paint.

While it’s not a huge inconvenience to have to repaint the exterior of a commercial building, if you can make a good plan for maintaining this new paint, you hopefully won’t have to repaint again for years to come. So by scheduling regular inspection of the paint, keeping the building clean, and doing minor touch-ups as they become necessary, you should be able to keep your new paint looking great.

If you have plans to repaint your commercial building, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you go about this project successfully.
