Stopping Revenue Leakage in Managed Services: A Case Study

In today's fast-paced business landscape, Managed Service Providers (MSPs) encounter challenges in managing diverse offerings like Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and Cloud services. Among these complexities, the meticulous handling of usage charges proves to be a significant hurdle, often leading to revenue leakage.

For many MSPs, tracking usage charges—often minuscule fractions of a penny—poses a real challenge. In the early stages, accepting some degree of inefficiency or leakage might seem tolerable, as the effort required for collecting these minor charges doesn't seem justified. However, these seemingly insignificant losses can accumulate, impacting profitability as organizations grow. This scenario was no stranger to one of BluLogix's MSP clients.

Implementing BluLogix's BluIQ solution proved transformative. This case study witnessed the recovery of over $1.3 million in previously unquantifiable revenue leakage. By reconciling charges against invoices, the platform unearthed additional billing errors, including incorrect charges and fees for services that should have been terminated or allocated differently.

BluIQ's approach involved aggregating and mediating usage data from various sources, accurately rating this data, and aligning charges with actual usage costs. This solution not only recovered lost revenue but also provided a deeper understanding of cost and usage metrics. This newfound visibility enabled MSPs to offer greater billing transparency to their clients, aligning services with their perceived value and strengthening client relationships.

In conclusion, BluIQ offers a comprehensive solution to mitigate revenue leakage. MSPs adopting this solution stand to gain not only revenue recovery but also improved billing accuracy, enhanced transparency, and stronger client relationships. It’s a transformative step toward more efficient billing and heightened client satisfaction in the competitive MSP landscape.
