From a Humble Educator to a Serial Entrepreneur: The Story of Michael Mota

In 2003, Rhode Island native Michael Mota was a teacher in North Providence where he grew up. In 2024, Mota is the CEO of his companies Atom Media and VirtualCons, the President of Bayport International Holdings, and the Chief Operating Officer / Partner  of Billionaire’s Row Champagne and Spirits Brand. Over the course of 20 years, Mota has transformed himself into a talented businessman that values the power of innovation, creativity, and perseverance.

A self-described serial-entrepreneur, Michael Mota first discovered his life’s calling in 2002, when he began a small videography company called Eternity Productions dedicated to producing wedding videos for families. In 2010, Mota became the Vice President of Sales for a company called Mediapeel, where he proved his strong skills in marketing, video productions, media buying, and negotiations to essential client ‘Alex and Ani’. Mota would later be a key player in company negotiations, which led to his client becoming the primary owner of Mediapeel (later Seven Swords Media).

Mota then became the VP of Marketing for Alex and Ani an international jewelry brand spreading positive energy one bracelet at a time.  That company went from a million to a billion in a very short time frame.  Mr Mr. Mota’s efforts have been documented as one of the key elements of creating this lifestyle brand.  He went on to become the Vice President of Business Development for Seven Swords Media, and over a two-year period he brought the once-small company to international stardom. Seven Sword’s sales soared from $500 thousand to $22 million, and the company landed on Inc. magazine’s '500 Fastest Growing Companies' and 'Fastest Growing Companies in Rhode Island' lists in record time. Having proved his prowess in marketing and business development, Mota left Seven Swords to create ATOM Media Group (2014) and VirtualCons (2018).

In 2024, Michael Mota continues to cultivate his skills and strengths even in the face of adversity. Last year, a series of negative news articles were written by a reporter at the Boston Globe, causing community projects Mota was working on (such as construction on a large homeless shelter called Memorial Hospital) to be placed on an indefinite hiatus and an attempted eviction from a venue that he brought from ruins to one of the finest events venues in the state. Refusing to let his name be dragged through the mud, Mota hired Peter Ticktin, the Founder of Ticktin Law Group and an attorney of Donald Trump’s, to fight back against the publication’s defamatory statements and dishonest journalism. More information can be read here

This upcoming November, Michael Mota will also be featured in the Capitol Times Magazine, a publication that has featured talented Conservative icons including Donald Trump, Leon Benjamin, Cameron Moore, Peter Ticktin, Roger Stone, Michael Flynn, and Patrick Byrnes.
