Inspiration, Innovation and Conversation: A quest to an ODYSSEY of self discovery at _SOUTHSTART 2023

Program Launched, Registration NOW Open!

Australia’s leading innovation festival _SOUTHSTART // ODYSSEY has launched the 2023 festival program today, with tickets now available to the unique and intimate multi-day adventure.

_SOUTHSTART will see founders, industry leaders and funders come together to converse, reflect and locate the varied and intangible building blocks for growth during South Australia’s ‘Mad March’ on 7 -10 March.

The multi-day experience, supported by the South Australian Government, will create paths to new, global connections through an immersive syllabus of in person masterclasses, conversations, investment connections, activations, wellbeing activities and regional escapades.

Premier Peter Malinauskas says that the South Australian Government is proud to once again partner with _SOUTHSTART to deliver this highly anticipated startup and innovation conference.

“Alongside the city’s other Mad March activity, _SOUTHSTART has cemented its place in the nation’s events calendar – attracting innovation thought leaders, investors and founders from across the country to Adelaide.”

“It’s a chance to showcase what’s happening in South Australia, including the impact our businesses, research institutes, innovation districts and regions are having on the global stage.”

“Each year, _SOUTHSTART sparks new relationships, and is a catalyst for collaboration and investment. I can’t wait to hear of the out comes of this terrific 2023 program," said the Premier.

_SOUTHSTART // ODYSSEY 2023 will support passionate, curious and tenacious souls in the sharing of industry-specific truths and tactics by participating in the conversations required to fuel future steps.

A key program highlight, the Angel Summit in partnership with Southern Angels, will be held at Adelaide’s iconic National Wine Centre and will see 120 of Australia's leading Angel Investors come together to help founders thrive.

_SOUTHSTART Directors Craig Swann and Danielle Seymour have curated their sixth program together for the festival, the broadest and most in depth to date. For the first time, the event will partner with The Garden of Unearthly Delights as the host venue for START(UP) Academy and CAMP(US), with access to WOMADelaide also included in the program.

_SOUTHSTART Co-Director Craig Swann says, “We are so excited to welcome Australia's leading Angel investors to the ODYSSEY experience to gather alongside a special group of scaleup founders to converse, connect and grow. Aligning ourselves to partner with The Garden of Unearthly Delights and WOMADelaide immerses us even deeper as a true festival in every sense.”

“The program for 2023 has been more considered and curated to deliver an even greater experience for participants with a focus on strengthening real human connection to provide solutions for the future.”

Alongside the Angel Summit, _SOUTHSTART // ODYSSEY will deliver a Scaleup Summit. In partnership with global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, it will bring together 80 leading scaleups to unwind and dive deeper into their growth journey through sharing with those who are going through a similar journey.

_SOUTHSTART Director, Danielle Seymour says, “As our audience continues to grow and mature, we are strengthening our focus on curating targeted programmatic elements that cross over at critical touch points. This will enable us to continue to mobilise the cross-sector connections that stand as a critical piece to Australia’s innovation race, while strengthening the pillars that will drive the longevity of success.”

“We have an incredible list of speakers confirmed, along with a breadth of partners, all collaborating to make _SOUTHSTART greater than ever before,” Danielle says.

Joining Foundation Partner, the Government of South Australia, event partners of _SOUTHSTART // ODYSSEY 2023 have jumped on board to support the festival and include global brands such as Stripe, Optus, McKinsey & Company, Atlassian Foundation, RAA, Think & Grow and 1835i, ANZ Banking Group's external innovation and venture capital partner.
